Community LeadGeneva Bokowski leads our Community Management team. She came to us from the respected 5th Business Agency, where she was responsible for defining and executing social media strategies in-house as well as for clients.
Geneva has a solid understanding of emergent social media practices and techniques, including influencer and social search marketing, content strategy, curation, aggregation, and community management.
She developed her social media and digital communications experience at the crowd-source veteran site NowPublic.com and the content-rich EthicalConsumer.ca blog. Geneva leads our web auditing practice, given that she is among the top in her field for assessing user-interface design for web sites.
Community ManagerErica was the founder of one of the first transmedia storytelling consultancies and has taught digital strategy at Universities and College across Canada, and currently at BCIT. Erica’s insights on digital strategy are very much in demand — so much so, that she was invited to close a TEDx event recently in Warsaw to talk about interactive brand storytelling. At engageQ, she manages our clients’ social media channels.
Healthcare LeadJocelyn is a graduate-educated public health professional and brings solid skills in online community management.
In 2012, Jocelyn was selected as one 20 top social media influencers on knowledge translation in Canada. Most people in the sector know of Jocelyn through her well-respected science and health blog (researchgirl.ca) and Twitter account (researchgirlca). She has consulted with BC Children’s Hospital, the BC Medical Association, iCord, the Rick Hansen Institute, and more..
Prior to joining engageQ, Jocelyn helped academic researchers develop their research ideas, be more competitive in research proposals, and communicate their work to those who could benefit from it. She also chaired the organizing team for a 200-person global health conference in 2008.
Creative LeadRod Mackin is creative director. He brings a generalist communicator’s perspective to strategic planning, brand development and campaign execution. An award-winning copywriter who has thrived as a digital immigrant, Rod has successfully assimilated with engageQ’s digital natives. This has resulted in productive creative collaborations that bring valuable insight to our clients. And new versatility to our capabilities.
His experience gained at major advertising agencies in the UK, NYC, Toronto, and Vancouver includes creative in all media for beer and beverage alcohol products, fashion retailers like Club Monaco and Ralph Lauren, packaged goods brands such as Robin Hood & Vaseline Intensive Care, Fairmont Hotels, major airlines, TD, CIBC, HSBC banks, Telus as well as provincial and federal departments, agencies & crown corporations, non-profits and performing arts groups.
Business DevelopmentFor more than 15 years, Leslie has helped companies define their digital product, content and marketing strategies.
Among the digital marketing strategies she develops for engageQ clients: strategic digital planning, community leadership and management (French/English), social media marketing, managing development, launch and operations of websites, development of editorial strategies, and digital advertising sales training.
Leslie joined us after spending time as Online Director of the Star Media Group, managing the digital assets of Eye Weekly and other top properties, and director of national marketing communications at Sympatico.ca.
OperationsThe way I see it, I’ve got two options here. I could either tell you what I’ve done, or I could tell you what I *do*. The latter is much more interesting.
I’m a writer: I’ve been published in national newspapers, large circulation magazines, and appeared in MAXIM. One of my newsletter articles recently received a staggering 96% click through rate. I’m working on my first novel, which is harder than I ever thought it ever could be.
